How to heat python tank properly?
We just rescued a snake (ball python) and I'm wondering where/how to heat the tank. He has a rock he sleeps under and branches on the other side of the tank. I know we have to heat the entire tank at about 78-80degrees F at all times but I heard you need a basking area.
My question is, does the hotter basking area go where the rock is or on the other end of the tank?

i have an under the tank heater, and a basking light on one side of my tank, and on the other side i have a log, and in the middle i have a waterbowl. it does need a basking spot about 90 deg.
